Additional Notes:

How Is a CBCT Scan Performed and Analyzed?

A radiologist will position you properly to ensure accurate imaging. It’s crucial to remain completely still during the scan, which takes about 30–40 seconds as the machine rotates around your head. Any movement may require a repeat scan.

You may request scans focusing on specific areas (e.g., only maxilla or mandible). A lead apron is worn to protect you from radiation.

Once complete, the radiologist or a maxillofacial surgeon will analyze the images, providing detailed information on the quantity and quality of bone in the jaws.
